Carson Houser is 21 years old, a current PRCA and collegiate rodeo bullrider, and a cowboy poet from McClusky, North Dakota.
One of the first books he read as a young reader was a collection of cowboy poetry, so he was always familiar with it. But it took hearing Rodney Nelson in person to inspire him to write his own. In 2021, he published Branding in the Rain: A Collection of Ranching & Rodeo Poetry.
Houser transferred to South Dakota State University in fall 2021 after graduating with an associates degree from Miles Community College in Montana. He competes as part of the SDSU Rodeo Team, and won his first PRCA event at the Lake Region Stampede (June, 2022).
His first CD, Another Iron On the Fire, came out in 2022.
